Welcome to ESL 46!

Official Course Description

ESL 046 is a high-intermediate grammar review course for those students who wish to review and improve their grammar skills through writing, listening, reading, and speaking activities. This course is recommended for students who have completed or are currently enrolled in ESL 40, 100, or 101, but are still having difficulty with English grammar. Includes Intensive review and practice of syntactic structures such as verb tense, tag questions, gerunds and infinitives, and phrasal verbs.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to do the following:

  • Recognize common grammatical forms and structures in different types of communication.
  • Be able to recognize and use different verb forms and tenses.
  • Create multi-clausal sentence structure.
  • Analyze and correct the grammar in guided exercises and assignments in order to develop an awareness of correct grammatical usage.
  • Collaborate with peers to complete assignments and strengthen language skills.
  • Use different services available to complete assignments.
