Flashback 2017 Costume Figure Drawing nights at Fullerton College

One of my favorite things this year was costumed figure drawing night at Fullerton College. The highlight was getting captured in cartoon form by one of the other artists! She definitely captured my concentrating face!

  1. It fascinates me that people can draw. I have a yearning to learning! I can write, compose, photograph, but not draw yet. I went on a starter course a few years back and enjoyed it but never continued. I must!!

    1. That’s funny because I feel the same way about photography and composing! I just bought a DSLR camera, so you’ll have to give me some pointers. πŸ™‚ Drawing is the same as any skill… It’s the mileage. The more you draw the better you get. I honestly think my drawing is terrible but that’s a common artist mentality thing.

      1. Yes, I believe it is. We are all far too prone to be overly-critical of ourselves. I went to talk to a professional about it once and she asked me, β€œThese crap short stories that you write, what do you think of them when you take them out of the desk drawer after 3 years and re-read them?” I’m always surprised how good they are!

      2. I used to write a lot of stories in highschool. I sort of fell out of it later. When I went through my old journals I was surprised how well they are written. Same thing with my art. I always think its terrible until I look at it later.
